Finding a granola bar that tastes great and is low-carb isn’t easy. And usually, when you think you’ve found one, you wind up sacrificing flavor for nutrition. Munk Pack is the perfect example of a granola bar that tastes great but is also diabetes-friendly. (I received Munk Pack products free of charge, and all opinions are my own.)
Munk Pack was created by a couple of avid hikers that were disappointed with the snack bar options they found on store shelves. Working corporate jobs by day, they tinkered in their kitchen in their free time. When they got the recipes just right, they started by sharing their snacks at farmers’ markets. Now they’re available across the country.
Munk Pack bars are made mostly out of energy-dense high-fiber nutritional dynamos like almonds, coconut, flax seeds, peanut butter, and pumpkin seeds. They have a hit of plant-based protein for satiating nutrition. And they’re sweetened with allulose, the Diabetes Daily staff’s favorite zero-carb sweetener. These bars won’t spike your blood sugar, which allows you to spend less time thinking about diabetes and more time focusing on the rest of your life, whether you need energy out hiking or just snacking between meals.
All of Munk Pack’s products are grain-free, plant-based, and gluten-free, making this a great choice for vegans, people living with celiac disease, low-carb dieters, and just about anyone else.
Munk Pack Keto Granola Bars
Munk Pack’s granola bars are sweet and chewy, just like the high-sugar Quaker Oats bars that my kids love. Munk Pack created a bar that is not only delicious, it contains only one gram of sugar, and most of the granola bars contain only two grams of net carbs. They come in a variety of flavors, including Dark Chocolate Cocoa, Peanut Butter Cocoa Chip, Coconut Cocoa Chip, Almond Butter Cocoa Chip, and Honey Nut. The Blueberry Almond Vanilla is a splurge in comparison, with a mere three grams of net carbs.
Every one I tried was super tasty. With five grams each of both fiber and protein, they were super satiating, even with only 140 calories per bar. This is a great choice to keep your weight and blood sugar in check. Your kids will love them too, whether or not they’re watching their sugar intake.
Keto Nut and Seed Bars
The nut and seed bars are crunchier and saltier than the granola bars. They’ve got more whole ingredients in them, which might make them less kid-friendly, but I love this stuff. It’s like a couple of handfuls of healthy trail mix in a bar form, both savory and sweet.
The flavors are Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, Caramel Sea Salt, Coconut Almond Dark Chocolate, Macadamia White Chocolate, and a great one for the upcoming fall — Pumpkin Seed Cinnamon Almond. The nutritional profile is similar to the granola bars above: only two or three net carbs with plenty of protein and fiber.
My Review
I get sent a lot of keto and low-carb food to try. Most of the time I’m not impressed, and I decline to review them.
Munk Pack Keto Granola Bars and Keto Nut and Seed Bars are the best-tasting keto snack bars I’ve tried. They have the most enticing flavors, and they do not have any weird alternative sugar flavor to them. The texture is great, whether you prefer the chewy bars or the crunchy ones. And with all the wholesome ingredients they feel very, very healthy.
I’m giving Munk Pack bars my strongest recommendation. These delicious keto options will allow you to enjoy a delicious snack without worrying about your blood sugars or your waistline.
